Frustrated about mobile phones never really living up to ones' desires and requirements as a user, INQ decided to go their own way. On their journey towards the best mobile handset of the year they brought us, Ocean Observations, as their partner in design. And we turned ourselves inside out to please the saviours of mobile. We needed to design a UI that should be light and confident enough to stand along other brands as well as behaving like a brand itself, inhabiting the phone, rather than create another copycat phone UI.
